Groome Industrial Service Group is a growing company in Wurtland, KY & Humble, TX providing specialty maintenance services nationwide for several industries including natural gas-fired power generation, refinery, shipping, manufacturing, and aviation. Groome is actively looking for CDL (Class A) drivers! 

The CDL / Laborer position requires a willingness to learn and perform a variety of trades and specialty skills in the industrial maintenance sector. These will include, but not be limited to, safely driving a vacuum truck, heavy equipment or any other company vehicles; operate the vac truck / VecLoader, watching all gauges and functions; assist with set up; inspect equipment and vacuum hoses/connectors before, during and after the project; complete all paperwork related to the position / project. In addition, responsibilities will include power washing, scaffolding, shoveling, blasting, grinding, construction, demolition and painting.

Requirements:

  • Work Hours: Shift start and stop times are determined by our customers. There is an expectation that the employee will be required periodically to work afternoon and/or evening shifts in addition to more traditional day shifts. Availability on weekends and for emergencies is also required.
  • Travel: Travel is required for out of state work traveling by air or by vehicle, including hotel stays.
  • Safety: Comply with all Expro, OSHA and customers’ safety policies.
  • Wardrobe: Jeans that fit, steel-toed boots, weather-appropriate layers. Employees who use respirators must be clean shaven when they arrive for their shift.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to severe. The employee is regularly required to climb, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, finger, feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

The physical demand level (PDL) for this position will vary from Medium to Very Heavy, depending on the project assigned. We do not have the ability to limit assignments to one specific PDL, so it is essential that the employee is willing and able to fulfill all demand levels regularly.

Job requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• CDL license required (Class A)
• Basic mechanical skills required
• High School Diploma or equivalent is a plus


Position starts at $15-$20 per hour with per diem, (per diem is $40 every 24 hours you are out, starting from the time you leave our shop until you arrive back to the shop. After completion of a 90-day probationary period, full time base pay $24,960k +($15/hr. Demo pay) Company-sponsored medical & life benefits, PTO and 401k.
