Project Coordinator

Groome Industrial Service Group is a growing company located in Fairfield, NJ, providing specialty maintenance services nationwide for several industries including natural gas-fired power generation, shipping, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and aerospace. We are looking to hire a seasoned Project Manager to join our team.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating each project from inception and execution to job closeout, ensuring it is completed in a timely fashion and within budget. This person will be the conduit between the Operations Department and Field teams (Field Foremen / Team Leaders). The PC will work closely with Engineering, EHS, Sales and the customer. This is a full-time exempt position and will report to the Operations Manager and the Assistant Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Promote and ensure safety policies are upheld
• Responsible for overall project delivery on multiple projects
• Ensure resources are provided to field teams to complete the project on time and on budget
• Daily communication with Operations Department / Foremen / Team Leaders
• Identify problems and recommend solutions
• Coordinate service / replacement when equipment or vehicles break down
• Track project costs in order to meet budget
• Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards
• Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers and key team members of the project team
• Negotiate with external vendors on contract agreements
• Ensure all deadlines are met

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
• 4+ years of experience in project management
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
• Must be well organized, detail-oriented and demonstrate capacity to multi-task successfully
• Must have excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
• Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
• Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products. Smartsheet a plus.
• Available to answer emergency calls 24/7 as they arise.
